Scan-to-Email Updates for All Gmail Users
May 26, 2022 | NECS
We at NECS wanted to inform our customers about some updates to Google’s system that will add a new step for your scanning in the future. We received word that Google will be implementing new changes to their Gmail regarding the “Allow Access for Less Secure Apps” feature, which will come into effect on May 30th. These changes will affect scanning to email for many NECS customers, like you.
With the new feature updates, current Gmail users, and those in the future, will need to setup their multifunction devices (MFDs) with:
- A new 2-step-verification
- An app password.
To ensure that our customers are kept in the know is a top priority of ours, and we wanted to help with any adjustments you might need to make during this time.
The NECS Support Team has come up with solutions to assist with the reconfiguration of our customers MFDs to ensure that all scan functionalities will be available to you.
Working closely with our technology specialists, we’ve created PDF documents with step-by-step instructions, including helpful screenshots, to walk you through reinstating scan-to-email usage.
The PDF documents provided below will help customers with their Canon, Samsung, and HP MFDs.
If after attempting to follow our instructions in restoring functionality you still have questions or concerns, our team is prepared to help. Please don't hesitate to contact us.
